Features that you'll love!
Less Cleaning
Forget needing to spend some of your Saturday every week cleaning your chicken coop. Designed with a mesh floor where a lot of the poop falls through to the ground, being movable and your hens being able to roam outside, the Chicken Caravan 30 does not need weekly cleaning. Shaking the nesting mats out and giving it a hose or pressure wash every now and then is all that's needed.

Auto Open and Close Main Door
Reclaim your mornings with the automated main door. This smart solar powered system is designed to automatically open in the morning to let your hens out onto fresh pasture, and close at night to help secure your birds for the night. While you will always want to keep a general eye on your hens and local predators, this clever automation drastically reduces your daily workload. It takes away the constant pressure of waking up at the crack of dawn for morning let outs or rushing home in the dark just to shut the coop. By managing the routine schedule for you, this feature gives you your weekends back and makes keeping chickens significantly easier.
Clean Eggs
Say goodbye to the tedious daily chore of washing dirty eggs. With the roll-away design and automatic bird excluder gates on the nesting boxes, you get consistently clean eggs. Simply level the nesting box with the leveler, and your eggs will safely roll from where they are laid, down to a collection area that the hens can't reach. The automatic excluder gates on the nesting box, closes in the afternoon and reopens in the morning, stopping your hens from roosting in the nests overnight. The mats are easy to clean and there is no straw to dig through looking for eggs. This keeps the nesting area tidy and your eggs cleaner.

Food And Water Onboard
No need to top your food and water up every day. There is a large capacity feeder, that can be pulled out and filled with a standard bag of 18kg of layer pellets. The chickens access the feed from under the caravan, where it is kept out of the rain. This also includes an automatic cover that closes it off at night. And there is an easy to fill, large water drum inside next to the egg collection area. Chickens access the water from nipple drinkers attached, on the underside of the caravan keeping the water clean and free of dirt and manure being kicked in it. When you move your chicken coop, the food and water go with it.
*Water drum is an optional extra to save you shipping costs

Less Rodents
Dramatically reduce feed waste and unwanted pests with the automated feeder cover on the Chicken Caravan 30. One hidden cost of keeping poultry is nocturnal rodents stealing your feed while the flock is sleeping. To combat this, our feeder automatically closes with the main door to block access for rats and mice, then safely reopens int he morning so your hens have immediate access to their breakfast. You get to save money and minimise frustrating pest problems without adding a single extra chore to your daily routine.
Solar Powered
Automation
All of the caravan's automated features are powered by an internal battery and managed through a central control box. The battery is continuously charged by a roof-mounted solar panels, making the system entirely off-grid and eliminating the need to run cables to mains power. This user-friendly control box is easily programmable, allowing you to set custom schedules for all automated functions to best suit your local environment and seasonal daylight hours.

Mobile And Easy To Move
Easily move the Caravan around your yard or paddock and stop your grass being turned to dirt. It can be pulled by hand with the pull handle, or fold open the tow section and tow with a quad bike, lawn mower or even a golf cart that has a 50mm hitch. There are 3 large wheels, with the front one being on a swivel. Surround it with some portable fencing and you can stop your grass from becoming dirt, fertilise your lawn, and have healthier hens that can access fresh grass.

Predator Protection
The floor of the Chicken Caravan 30 features double mesh throughout. This is specifically designed to try and prevent a fox from pulling a hen through the floor if she happens to be roosting there, rather than on the perch after the door closes at night. We always recommend keeping the caravan inside an electric chicken fence to add an extra layer of protection against those pesky foxes.

Soft Close Sensor Door
Protect your hens from accidental injury with the intelligent soft close main door on the Chicken Caravan 30. We know that hens can occasionally dawdle or sit in the entrance at dusk. If a bird is blocking the doorway while it is shutting, the built in safety sensor will immediately detect the obstruction. The door will gently stop, automatically reopen to allow the hen to move safely out of the way, and then attempt to close again a few moments later, repeating until it has closed.

Hot Dipped Galvanised Chassis
Invest in a mobile coop built to outlast the elements. Unlike traditional wooden coops that quickly rot, warp, and harbour pests, all of our Chicken Caravans are constructed on heavy duty hot dipped galvanised steel chassis'. This is around 4 times thicker than pre galvanised steel. Why do we include this? Because we learnt very quickly just how corrosive chook manure can be. This will allow your caravan to last much longer against corrosive chook manure and the elements.
Keep Your Hens Cooler
The Chicken Caravan 30 is equipped with several structural features to manage internal temperatures. Ventilation and temperature control are provided by a mesh floor, an air pocket between the top and bottom layer of roof sheet, and both sides of the roof can be propped open to provide more air flow. Together, these systems maintain a cooler environment for the flock on warmer nights. For further summer cooling strategies, please refer to our dedicated blog post.

Internal Light
Maximise your egg production year round by adding the optional extra solar powered internal lighting kit to your caravan. As natural daylight decreases during the shorter winter months, this clever system provides artificial light to encourage your hens to keep laying consistently. While it is fantastic for maintaining a steady egg supply, you might choose to skip this upgrade to allow your flock a natural winter rest and moult, which supports their long term health. Always check your local regulations first, as some governing bodies prohibit the use of artificial lighting to alter natural laying cycles.
Choose How Your Caravan Arrives
We know every farm has different setup capabilities and freight budgets, which is why the Chicken Caravan 30 is available in two delivery options:
Flat Packed (DIY Assembly): To help you save significantly on freight costs, this option ships securely flat packed. Please note that this is an advanced build: it requires on-site assembly and typically takes two people approximately 1 day to fully construct. You will need a forklift or tractor with tynes to unload the pallet when it arrives for delivery. If you do not have equipment to do this, please let us know before ordering, to see if we can arrange another option. You will need to source a water tank from a hardware shop like Bunnings, size specifications are in the FAQ below.
Fully Assembled (Ready to Roll): Your caravan arrives fully built, for you to get ready for your chickens to arrive. (This option is for Australian customers only)
Why movable chicken coops?
Moving your chickens regularly is one of the most effective ways to improve both your land and your flock’s wellbeing. Traditional stationary coops often result in bare, compacted ground where chickens overwork the exact same patch of dirt. By adopting a mobile setup, you keep your flock on fresh grass, allowing them to naturally forage for insects and vegetation. As they move, their instinctive scratching gently aerates the topsoil, while their nutrient-dense manure is evenly distributed across the ground. This systematic rotation prevents any single area from becoming overloaded with waste, turning your chickens into a natural fertilizing crew that encourages lush, rapid pasture regrowth and deeply enriches your soil's microbiology. A win for your chickens and your pasture
HOT TIP: Order your chickens to arrive at least six weeks after your caravan is scheduled to arrive. This gives you plenty of time to get everything organised and set up, and reduces any stress at this busy time.
We strongly recommend you only purchase your chickens once your caravan has been successfully delivered and assembled.
If the ordering of any such hens or livestock is required to be planned in advance, we strongly recommend that you order your hens to arrive at least 6 weeks after your caravan is scheduled to arrive.
This will ensure that in the unfortunate circumstance that your caravan is delayed,
your chickens wont be without a shelter.

No it is not. Here are some ways that you can help reduce the likelihood of snakes.
- Keep the caravan moving. Rather than have it mobile in one spot, keep it moving around your yard or paddock. This will disrupt the environment, as snakes prefer an undisturbed environment this area will be less appealing. Also keep piles and scraps of things clear (think wood or scrap metal piles) away from your coop, as these would be appealing to snakes.
- Keep food covered at night to keep rodents at bay. The Chicken Caravan 10 and 30 both now come with automatic covers that close the feeder off at night with the main door, and reopen in the morning. This is to reduce rodents. Cover any other feed sources you may have and be sure to clean up any spilled food
- Collect your eggs daily. Snakes love rodents and eggs. So collect them daily and take away that temptation
- Keep your grass short. Snakes like to use grass as a way to 'hide' while they move. Keeping it short around your electric fence or caravan can help reduce their amount
